Food For Thought

Back when I was in High School, I discovered this magical little place called Eleni's located in Chelsea Market (I went to school on west 18th and 8th). I was pondering what to get for lunch that day since they let us lunatics out for an hour. A bunch of my friends always went to Chelsea for lunch because they simply just had everything and I mean they should since the Food Network operates there. So as soon as I walk in, a couple hundred feet, this amazingly bright pink sign clouds my entire peripheral view.

I turned my head, glanced at it for a moment and said eh, what the hell and went in. To my surprise the whole place was filled with cleverly little decorated cookies for special occasions and sweets here and there. BUT what really caught my eye were the cupcakes. And although I LOVE cupcakes, I'm very particular with which ones I eat. So here I am taking a gander at this wide array of majestic beauty sifting out the chocolate ones and red velvet ones and ones I wouldn't think anyone in their right mind would eat because of the bajillion sprinkles that were piled on top of the heart attack and cavity infested frosting and I spotted it. The most amazingly delectable looking peanut butter and jelly cup cake.

Now, if anyone knows me, they know I would sooner kill myself brutally than ever live without peanut butter and jelly anything. I basically died and went to heaven, was reborn or went in to some sort of state of Nirvana or whatever you want to call it. Eleni's pb&j cupcakes are absolutely deliciously breathtaking and I will continue to go back again and again and again. ♥
